About this experience
Warsaw is not only the Old Town, but also the beautiful residences of the kings, two of which you will visit on this tour - the Royal Lazienki and Wilanow Palace. In both residences, you will get acquainted with valuable works of art and be transported back to the times of Polish kings' reign, as well as enjoy a walk along the lake and through the park with peacocks.
What to expect
Royal Lazienki - the happiest place in Warsaw
That's how this picturesque palace-park complex is described. The summer residence Royal Lazienki was conceived and implemented by the last King of Poland, Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Exploring the park ensemble, you will deepen your knowledge of Enlightenment ideas. At the lake, you will see the classicist style palace, and inside you will walk through the Royal Picture Gallery. In the old orangery, you will see copies of ancient sculptures, and in the Myślewicki Palace - the polychrome of the Polish artist Jan Bogumił Plersch. On the lake shore, you will view the Roman Amphitheatre, where boats were used during performances. In the end, in Lazienki, you will enjoy the harmony of architecture and nature: a walk through the park is included in the program, where you can meet peacocks and bright mandarins.
Wilanow: Polish Baroque and a love story
In the residence of the Polish King Jan III Sobieski, we will talk about his glorious victory at the Battle of Vienna and his love for the queen, who in Poland is fondly called Marysienka. The palace was not damaged during World War II and has been preserved in its original form, allowing you to admire Polish Baroque. In the local museum, you will get acquainted with the historical collection of artworks collected by Count Stanislaw Kostka Potocki.
