About this experience
Padua is a beautiful city for art and history lovers. You will walk through one of the largest squares in Europe, visit the Basilica of Saint Anthony with its treasures and relics, and experience the legendary doorless café. We will reveal the secrets of the Masonic lodge and tell you about the connections of Shakespeare, Petrarch, and Copernicus to the city.
What to expect
- Basilica of Santa Giustina - the oldest in the city and the ninth largest church in the world. You will see parts of the relics of apostle Matthew and evangelist Luke, and a chapel with a hexagonal opening - the Well of Martyrs.
- Prato della Valle - one of the largest squares in Europe and a symbol of Padua. Structurally resembles a Venetian patrician garden.
- Basilica del Santo, where the works of Giotto and Donatello are kept. Here is also a treasury where the relics of Saint Anthony are kept.
- Palazzo del Bo, in the inner courtyard of which are diplomas and coats of arms of the most outstanding university graduates. Also houses the chair of Galileo Galilei, who taught mathematics and physics at the university.
- "Pedrocchi" - doorless café. Its walls remember political meetings that decided the fate of the city and the country. And here they serve unique pistachio coffee.
And much more!
