So, the program includes:
- We will start our tour with the Neptune Fountain, which has magnificently adorned the main square since 1563.
- Next, we will get acquainted with the Town Hall building, containing centuries-old secrets. We will talk about the transition from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar and Napoleon's conquest of Bologna.
- We will visit the Basilica of St. Petronius. Here we will talk about Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy", I will tell you about a scandalous 15th-century fresco depicting the circles of hell, what relation Napoleon's sister has to Bologna, and which calendar precisely shows the days of the equinoxes and solstices.
- Through the graceful arcade, we will reach the first building of the University of Bologna - Palazzo Archiginnasio. We will visit its lecture halls and incredibly beautiful library. We will talk about the history of the world's first secular university, its prominent figures, the educational process, and what the university represents today.
