What to Expect
- Lyab-i Hauz Ensemble - one of the main squares of the ancient city, with the Nadir-Begi reservoir at its center. Learn about the evolution of this architectural complex throughout history.
- Trade Domes. Explore the domes of moneychangers, hat sellers, and jewelers. Admire the stone vaults and preserved mosaics.
- Kosh-Madrassah Complex, consisting of two educational institutions from the 15th and 17th centuries. Discover the unique features of their architecture and why Kosh-Madrassah is an outstanding masterpiece of Central Asian architecture.
- Poi-Kalyan - an ancient ensemble consisting of a 12th-century minaret, one of the largest mosques in Central Asia, and a madrasa.
- Ark Fortress - an impregnable abode of all the rulers of Bukhara from the 4th century BCE. Hear the history and legends of this inner city.
- Mausoleum of the Samanids - a beautifully crafted monument built from fired bricks in the 9th century.
