About this experience
I invite you to uncover the most non-touristic side of Istanbul! You will climb to magnificent old domes and roofs of abandoned houses, stroll through the secret lanes of the Grand Bazaar, meet craftsmen, and taste the most delicious doner in the city. I will show you the hidden and incredibly atmospheric Istanbul.
What to Expect
Grand Bazaar off the Beaten Path
We will explore the non-touristic corners of the Grand Bazaar. Its territory is full of narrow streets, ancient buildings, and residential structures resembling slums. We will walk through them, see houses whose owners refused to sell during the market's expansion, climb to the roof of one of them to admire the Grand Bazaar from above. I will also reveal a secret part of the market where copper ware is made and sold 10 times cheaper than in city shops.
Mosques, Roofs, and Craft Workshops
Delving into the Old City, we will enter abandoned buildings, conquer accessible rooftops for the best panoramas, and even climb an ancient dome! Simultaneously, I will show you the authentic local life – you may enjoy Turkish coffee, taste the most delicious doner in the city. Lastly, I will introduce you to the Rustem Pasha Mosque, sharing its history and showcasing the tiles.
