About this experience
Get ready - it will be great! In this packed journey, you will encounter volcanoes, waterfalls, lava fields, and the evergreen Patagonian forest. An incredible amount of Chilean beauty awaits you! We will walk through the Red Crater, swim in the Petrohué River, have a picnic at Todos-los-Santos Lake, and visit the colonial town of Puerto Varas. And these are just a few of the places we will explore!
Who and What to Expect
- Osorno Volcano. The journey will take you along a picturesque road alongside Llanquihue Lake. At the summit of the majestic volcano (2652 m), you will enjoy panoramic views of the lake, the mighty Andes, and the neighboring Calbuco Volcano.
- Walk around the crater. You will embark on a 1.5-hour trek to the Red Crater and stroll around it at an altitude of 1300 m, offering incredible views of the forest and lava fields at the base of the volcano. If desired, the trek can be replaced by a cable car ascent, but please note that it does not operate all months of the year.
- Patagonian forest. We will drive to the base of Osorno Volcano, walk through the evergreen forest and lava plains, and reach the region's most beautiful river - Petrohué. If desired, you can swim here. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours.
- Petrohué Waterfalls. These natural cascades are a wonderful sight to behold. You will admire the turquoise water falling from volcanic rocks.
- Todos-los-Santos Lake. Along the shores of this picturesque lake, we will rest, swim, and enjoy a small picnic with light snacks.
- Lunch at a local restaurant. An all-you-can-eat buffet (excluding certain beverages) will delight you with a variety of Chilean dishes.
- Friendly llamas. We will visit a farm where llamas roam the lawns, and you can pet and take photos with them.
- Puerto Varas Town. A colonial town founded by German settlers. It is known for its picturesque streets, historic buildings, and cozy cafes.
Throughout the journey, I will share insights on Chile's history, landmarks, and nature, and answer all your questions.
