You will get acquainted with one of the most successful manufactories of Imperial Russia and the history of the Morozov dynasty. Walk through the old quarters and picturesque Klyazma embankment. Along the way, we will talk about technological progress in Russian enterprises, the life of different classes in the 19-20 centuries, and local Old Believers.
What to expect
Stachki Yard: history of the Nikolskaya manufactory
In the heart of the historical center, I will tell you about the past of the enterprise, most of which has been preserved to this day. You will learn which factories were part of it and what they were famous for in Russia and beyond. You will hear about the country's first factory football team, which originated here and mainly consisted of English workers. We will discuss the first benefits for working women. And of course, about the strike of 1885, when workers came to the factory management yard with their economic demands.
Personality of Savva Morozov
In the homeland of the founder of the famous merchant and industrialist family, you will learn about the biography and social-public activities of Savva Timofeevich. And you will walk along the street named in his honor.
Legacy of the dynasty
Walking along the Klyazma embankment, the territory of the former villages of Orekhovo, Zuevo, and the town of Nikolskoye, you will understand the contribution to the city's development made by the representatives of the Morozovs. You will see the Old Believer church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, which, among others, received charity from the patrons. Here I will also talk about the life and customs of the Old Believers of the Pomor and Belokrinitsky agreements. And if you wish, we will approach the Winter Theater, built with funds from the Morozovs, and the Morozov hospital - one of the first medical institutions in Russia, where an X-ray machine was installed.
