About this experience
This trip will introduce you to the main natural, cultural, and religious landmarks of Armenia! You will visit the stunning freshwater Lake Sevan, the largest in the Caucasus, explore medieval monastery complexes with rich history, and stroll through the resort town of Dilijan, surrounded by forests and lakes of the national park, renowned for its residents - Armenia's scientific and cultural figures.
What to Expect
Azure Gem of Armenia
We will visit one of Armenia's main natural attractions - Sevan, the largest freshwater lake in the Caucasus. You will enjoy incredible mountain landscapes, learn about the lake's history and local fishing industry, as Sevan is famous for its delicacy trout. On the lakeshore, you will explore the ancient Sevanavank monastery made of black volcanic tuff and discover its centuries-old history.
Picturesque Town of Dilijan
Next, we will head to Dilijan - a resort town with picturesque streets, surrounded by mirror-like lakes and dense forests of the Dilijan Reserve. Here you will become acquainted with traditional Armenian architecture and local attractions: holiday homes, the renowned music school, the House of Composers, the House of Cinematographers, and more. You will learn about the artists, scientists, composers, and filmmakers living in Dilijan, rightfully earning the resort town the title of one of Armenia's most intellectual cities. Not far from Dilijan, we will visit medieval monastery complexes: the lush green Agartsin and the historically significant Goshavank, closely linked to Armenian intellectual and theologian Mkhitar Gosh.
