About this experience
I invite young travelers and their parents for a walk! We will explore a non-standard route starting from your hotel. The route will be based on children's interests, their visual impressionability, and emotional perception. Parents will find it equally fascinating!
During the walk, we will visit:
- A steep climb to the top of the Three Crosses Hill with a viewing platform and an impressive view of the Old Town. I will tell you the legend of the Franciscan monks' death at this very spot;
- A hike up the Gediminas Hill, a recognized symbol of Vilnius (the hill can be climbed only from April 20th);
- A self-guided climb up a spiral staircase to an ancient Gothic tower (entrance tickets for adults - 5 euros, for children - with a 50% discount);
- Descents into the underground where the secrets of the Old Town are hidden. You will see pieces of amber with inclusions of incredible beauty and hear the story of the origin of Baltic amber.
We will take a break at the chocolatier on Zamkova Street and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate. I will show you a real chocolate room and share the history of chocolate;
We will also walk to the sculpture of Doctor Aybolit, where I will tell you the fascinating story of his life. Do your children, and even you, know that the prototype of Doctor Aybolit was the famous Jewish doctor and social activist Tsemakh Shabad, who lived in Vilnius in the early 20th century?
Of course, during the walk, I will not ignore the adult audience! We will talk about the history of Vilnius and the whole country, legends and traditions that trace back to Lithuania's pagan past.
