What to Expect
20,000-Year-Old Art
You will head to the south of Azerbaijan to the Gobustan National Park - a unique historical-geographic reserve where you can touch the ancient rock carvings and see the oldest settlements of Stone Age inhabitants. Here you will also find a closed museum exhibiting artifacts witnessing the primitive history of humanity.
Mud Volcanoes
The next stop is the oil and gas fields where you will see a rare and unusual phenomenon: gray liquid gushing out from the depths of the earth, forming small ponds. I will tell you about the origin of this natural phenomenon, its organic nature, and its geographical distribution.
Old City of Baku
After the trip, you will have some rest (optionally have lunch in a fish restaurant) and then explore the streets of Old Baku. You will learn about the history of the city, study its architecture, see the famous Baku doors - some of them are already 150 years old. You will visit the filming locations of the movie 'Diamond Arm' and learn about the peculiarities of the Palace of the Shirvanshahs. And, of course, you will hear the most interesting stories about outstanding residents of Baku and urban legends.
Yanar Dag Fire Mountain
Once again, you will see a unique phenomenon - a natural fire that never extinguishes. You will visit this place at the perfect time - in the evening when the flames illuminate everything around, and you can feel the special atmosphere of mystery and ancientness of Yanar Dag.
