About this experience
You will see Varna asleep and bustling, ancient and modern, open and mysterious. I will show you its grand side and hidden nooks, tell you about the past and present, help you feel its stunning multi-layeredness, and fall in love with it forever!
What to Expect
Scenic Route
We will meet at Princess Maria Louisa Boulevard, pass through a square and Atlantic Solidarity Square, walk along the pedestrian part of Slivnitsa Boulevard and the night park. We will take a short break in the port with its shining lights, return to the center through Preslav shopping street, and part ways at Independence Square.
Varna through the Ages
You will see the ruins of an ancient fort, Greek columns from the 6th century BC, and a small soldier's bath, while listening to stories about the life of the Eastern Roman Empire. The buildings of a girls' gymnasium and a boys' college will remind you of the recent past. Additionally, I will share jokes of Soviet era architects and tell interesting facts about modern Varna.
Energy of the Night City
It's not just a historical walk but an atmospheric one. You will feel the silence and coolness of the night park, admire old buildings in the light of lanterns, mysterious breakwater and lighthouse, touch the new city symbol, and see the light globe of Copernicus Observatory. I will talk about the life of sailors and the people who created the unique city atmosphere. I will show you the former villa of the Italian consul and reveal some of its intriguing details.
