About this experience
Downtown is Lower Manhattan, home to Chinatown, Little Italy, bohemian Greenwich Village, and the Financial District. Let's explore them all! You will see how diverse New York City can be: business-oriented, cozy, stony, green, multicultural, concentrated, and carefree. Along the way, I will gladly share Manhattan's stories and legends.
What to Expect
In Chinatown, you will immerse yourself in the Asian world within New York City. In Little Italy, stroll down the famous restaurant street. In Soho, confirm that homes are not only made of stone and brick. On Wall Street, rub the horns or nose of the Bull. And in Greenwich Village, take a photo on the steps of the 'Sex and the City' house and try cakes at the most popular bakery. Additionally, I will show you the Statue of Liberty, the federal prison, and the symbol of New York City corruption in the mid-19th century. The humble City Hall building, where all city mayors worked, and the oldest of the surviving skyscrapers. I will also tell you:
- Why before Central Park, locals used to go to a cemetery for relaxation
- Where the creator of the first steamboat is buried
- How the crowns of the British Empire disappeared from the city's oldest park
- Where tickets for the Titanic were sold
- How and why the inventor of price tags erected a neo-Gothic tower for himself
- Where Booth's and Chapman's sentences were awaited
And this is just the beginning!
