Opened relatively recently, the New Acropolis Museum has instantly made it into the lists of the 'most significant in the world'. I will reveal its concept, architectural features, and construction history. You will see ancient statues of gods, ancient engravings, and Caryatids - columns in the form of female figures, as well as the excavation process under the glass floor and the panorama of the Parthenon.

Immerse yourself in the world of Ancient Greece
We will talk about the social, economic, and political peculiarities of Ancient Athens and the history of the Acropolis. You will learn about the structures that were located on its territory and their symbolism. What objects were used daily by local residents and what are the sanctuaries of Asclepius, Aphrodite, and Dionysus known for. In the archaic period hall, you will appreciate the architectural decor of temples destroyed by the Persians, and a series of statues of koi and kouroi - offerings to the goddess Athena.
The Acropolis in detail
In the part of the museum dedicated to the Acropolis of the classical period, you will see the famous Caryatids, elements of the Erechtheion, Athena Nike, and the monumental entrance of the Propylaea. In the Upper Hall, you will examine the details of the Parthenon, understand the differences between metopes and friezes, and how the local marble ended up in the British Museum. You will explore the skillful images of the solemn Panathenaic procession and ancient Greek festivals.

The entrance ticket to the museum is not included in the excursion price: 5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children in the low season (November 1 - March 31) and 10 euros for adults, 5 euros for children in the high season (April 1 - October 31).
