About this experience
A trip to Lantau Island is a step towards understanding the philosophy of Buddhism and the life of Hong Kong residents. You will visit the largest Buddhist center located in the mountains and walk along the 'Wisdom Path'. Descend to the village of Tai O, where houses rise from the water on stilts, and nearby live amazing pink dolphins. As a result, you will delve deeper into the culture of Hong Kong, its natural phenomena, and mysterious atmosphere.
What to Expect
Immerse Yourself in Buddhist Culture
To reach Lantau Island, we will ride about 5 km on an exciting cable car: you will not only enjoy the surroundings but also get a lot of adrenaline if we get a cabin with a glass floor. Along the way, I will tell you interesting facts about Buddhism and introduce you to the history of this unique place. On Lantau, you will see the largest sitting bronze Buddha Tian Tan, visit the Precious Lotus Temple and a Buddhist school, and then stroll along the 'Wisdom Path', where you will get a little closer to the answer to the question of the meaning of life.
Authentic Water Village Tai O
Descending from the mountains, we will head to the ancient water village of Tai O. Here, the people of Hong Kong still live in unique wooden houses on stilts, engage in fishing and selling local delicacies. In Tai O, you can enjoy a cup of coffee sitting in a unique cafe on stilts and get acquainted with the life of local residents. And if you get hungry, we can visit a colorful Chinese restaurant and taste fresh seafood.
Boat Trip to the Pink Dolphins
After lunch, you will enjoy a contemplative boat trip past stilt houses. From the village, we will sail to a place where, if you're lucky, you will observe the rare pink dolphins - disappearing animals. During the sea trip, you will also encounter other unique natural phenomena, the existence of which I will try to explain.
