Mountainous Sri Lanka: Little Adam's Peak, Ravana Waterfall, and Nine Arches Bridge
About this experience
Our journey lies in the mountains of Sri Lanka - to the tea plantations, national parks, perennial waterfalls, and emerald rocks of the town of Ella. In this adventure, we will help you discover the most colorful locations of the mountainous region: you will bathe in the waterfall, trek to Little Adam's Peak, see the stone arched bridge, and hear legends of Lanka's past and present.
What to Expect
Colors and landscapes of mountainous Sri Lanka
The part of the island through which our route will pass differs from the coast in a cool climate, altitude changes, and lush green landscapes. We will drive through national park territories where elephants and peacocks roam, and then find ourselves among mountain passes covered with tea plantations. The main locations of our journey:
Little Adam's Peak. We will ascend to a natural observation platform and look at the surroundings from a height of 1.2 km with a magnificent view of Ella mountain dominating the area. The trek will be manageable for all participants without serious health issues.
Ravana Waterfall - the widest in Sri Lanka and never dries up even in the dry summer. Many legends surround this place, such as the one about an ancient king of Lanka whom locals consider the ancestor of ayurveda.
Nine Arches Bridge - perhaps one of the most picturesque locations on the island! You will learn about the unique construction of the "bridge to the sky," which was built without the use of steel. And of course, you won't leave without dozens of impressive photos.
Diyaluma Waterfall. You will refresh yourself in the basin of a 220-meter waterfall, surveying the surrounding valleys from a bird's eye view. And you will see that Diyaluma has earned its name ("water light"): the streams falling from a height crash into the rocks and envelop everything around with shining sprays.
