About this experience
We will travel by two types of transport - car and train - to the town of Ella. Here you will see completely different landscapes than in the southern part of the island: mountains, rivers, and tea plantations. Climb Little Adam's Peak, appreciate the giant Nine Arches Bridge, and see the multilevel Ravana Falls.
What to expect
Ella and its surroundings
We will drive from your hotel to the Demodara railway station by car, where we will transfer to a highland train that will take us to Ella. After the excursion, we will return the same way. Highlights include:
- Nine Arches Bridge - you will see the largest bridge in Sri Lanka, built in the village of Gotuwa during the British rule. I will tell you about the materials it was built from and why it is called the 'bridge in the sky'.
- Little Adam's Peak - a very easy one-hour climb to a lookout point with stunning views of Ella Rock. We will pass through picturesque tea plantations, see the Buddha statue at the top, and feel the grandeur of the Sri Lankan mountains.
- Ravana Falls - a multilevel and very beautiful waterfall measuring 19 meters in height. You will learn how it was formed and hear interesting stories associated with it.
