Sri Lanka will captivate you with its natural diversity! You will enjoy the mountains and tea plantations, stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens with rare plants, and see Gregory Lake. Visit the highland resorts of Ella and Nuwara Eliya, observe elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, and explore the Temple of the Tooth Buddha in Kandy.
What to expect
Day one. Kandy and Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
We will meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport and head to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975 to rescue lost animals. Currently, about seventy elephants live here: you will observe them and learn interesting facts about them. Next, we will visit the city of Kandy - one of the country's largest religious centers, home to the famous Temple of the Tooth Buddha.
Day two. Botanical Garden, Nuwara Eliya, and Temple of all Religions
You will visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, where plants from all over the world are collected. Admire the unusual Temple of all Religions in Ambuluwawa, enjoy the view of two waterfalls from the viewing platform tea plantations. At the tea factory, we will be offered fragrant Ceylon tea and share secrets of its processing. And in the second half of the day, we will head to Nuwara Eliya, a highland resort known as 'Little England' for its preserved colonial style.
Day three. Ella and surroundings
Ella is a village surrounded by hills and mountains. Here you will find the magnificent Nine Arch Bridge, built during the British rule and now a popular photo spot. You will take an easy trek to Little Adam's Peak, be impressed by the picturesque Gregory Lake and the Temple of the Goddess Situ mentioned in the Ramayana. We will tell you the history of these places and help you feel the atmosphere of the mountainous Sri Lanka.
