The Benedictine monastery on the picturesque Montserrat mountain has been attracting pilgrims of all religions for centuries to make a wish in front of the Black Madonna. Be one of them, breathe in the pure mountain air of Catalonia to later discover the taste of the best local wine and all the secrets of its production by visiting the Torres winery.
What to Expect
Montserrat Mountain and the Black Madonna
The road to the Montserrat mountain range will take about an hour, during which you will enjoy beautiful views and crystal fresh air, while I will tell you about the pilgrimage glory of the Benedictine monastery on the mountain and the Black Madonna, which representatives of various confessions pray to for health and well-being. The Black Madonna is a legendary wooden statue in the mountains, of unknown origin and creator, but fulfilling the wishes of the suffering for many centuries. After exploring Montserrat mountain and touring the Benedictine monastery grounds, and if we are lucky to hear the choir of boys, we will head to the winery.
Torres Winery
You will get acquainted with the behind-the-scenes processes of producing the best wine in all of Catalonia. Torres wine is of the highest quality and exquisite taste, has won numerous awards, and has its admirers beyond Spain all over the world. After watching an exciting 15-minute film in Russian, you will learn the most important things about the history of the winery, its development, and family traditions, and then go on a small journey through the facility. A train will take you through the vineyards and cellars, making several stops where you can taste several varieties of the delicious drink.

- If desired, a stop for lunch is possible on Montserrat mountain or on the way to the Torres winery at a countryside restaurant (approximately €12-15 per person)
