Virgin of Montserrat, or as the Catalans lovingly call her, 'La Moreneta' – a relic that thousands of pilgrims from all over the world eagerly await to see. I will tell you how, according to legend, the locals discovered the Black Madonna figurine and decided to build a religious structure here. You will hear the boys' choir singing in the school attached to the monastery. You will make a wish, as the Virgin of Montserrat fulfills secret dreams. The millennium-old history of the monastery, the mystery of a man named Joan Garo, and the connection of the monastery to one of the first rulers of Barcelona – you will learn fascinating details about the fate of this construction.
Montserrat mountain and breathtaking Catalan views
We will climb to the Cross of Saint Michael along the sacred path. You will be amazed by the unique relief of the mountain, and I will explain the whimsical names Catalans have given to its rocks. I will translate 'Montserrat' from the local language and we will discuss who, besides Antoni Gaudí, was inspired by this famous mountain for their creations. And at the end of the walk on top of the magical mountain, you will admire the view of beautiful Catalonia.

How the excursion goes
- Our journey will take place in a comfortable minivan. Child car seats are available.
- The road from Barcelona to Montserrat takes approximately one hour.
What is included and what is not
- Transportation costs are included in the price.
- Entrance tickets to Montserrat Monastery are paid separately – 8-23 EUR per person. Please book the tour in advance to ensure availability on your desired date.
- Additional costs (optional): drinks and lunch, funicular for the ascent to the top – 9 euros per person.
