About this experience
We will stroll along the streets where great artists walked a century ago. I will show the kids the places where Monet, Renoir, Degas, and many others lived and created. I will talk about the legendary bars and cabarets where they gathered and entertained. And I will accompany my story with reproductions of famous paintings and posters created in Montmartre.
What to Expect
Stories of the Bohemian Hill
Montmartre is one of the most picturesque districts of Paris, the history of which is closely connected with the Impressionist painters. During the walk, I will tell amusing stories about the artists of Moulin Rouge, Black Cat, and Aristide Bruant. I will show where Degas worked, where Toulouse-Lautrec lived, and the composer Bizet. Visual materials (posters, reproductions of paintings) will accompany the storytelling. Moreover, during the excursion, children will not only learn about Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, but also hear many funny and touching stories:
— about a donkey who became an artist
— about Saint Denis walking with his head in his hands
— about what Cubism is and where it was invented.
Montmartre in Its Entirety
Through picturesque streets, the kids will climb to the top of Montmartre and admire Paris. On the way, they will get acquainted with the main sights of the hill: they will see the 'Wall of Love,' the monument 'Man Passing through a Wall' (I will tell the fantastic story of this character), the wooden windmill of De la Galette, the old cabaret Provorny rabbit, where all the creative intelligentsia and artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries gathered.
Who Is This Tour For
The excursion is suitable for children from 8 years old and their parents.
