In 5 hours, you will visit the most famous places, stroll through a colorful bazaar, taste traditional plov. Our guide will take great photos for you to remember the journey.
What to expect
- Registan Square is a true gem of Samarkand. You will walk around, explore the medressas of Tillya-Kori, Sher-Dor, and Ulugbek. Learn when and how this architectural ensemble appeared and what its name really means. Plus, take stunning photos from the best angles.
- Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, built by outstanding Persian architects by the order of Tamerlane in the early 14th century. We will definitely take photos by the entrance arch known as the 'Gates to Paradise'.
- Siab Bazaar. The largest and oldest market in Samarkand and all of Uzbekistan. Here you can try local fruits and dried fruits, buy souvenirs.
- Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis - a monument of medieval architecture. Unique mausoleums from the times of Tamerlane have been preserved on its territory to this day.
- Bibi-Khanym Mosque dating back to the late 14th century. According to one version, it was built by order of Tamerlane in honor of his favorite wife Bibi-Khanym, according to another version, Bibi-Khanym herself decided to build it when her husband returned from the Indian campaign.
- Lunch at a traditional restaurant. You will visit a plov center or a national restaurant to experience authentic Samarkand cuisine, taste the main dish of Uzbekistan - aromatic plov - and learn the history of its origin.
