About this experience
I invite you to admire the shining azure domes of Samarkand and taste its magnificent cuisine. You will visit ancient squares, madrasas, mausoleums, and mosques. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the country and decode the peculiarities of its architecture. Then head to non-touristic teahouses to taste traditional Uzbek dishes.
What to Expect
The Very Best of Samarkand
You will see all the main attractions of Samarkand: the Registan Square with three ancient madrasas, the cathedral mosque Bibi-Khanum, the mausoleum of Saint Daniel, and the family tomb of Tamerlane. You will also stroll through the famous medieval necropolis Shahi Zinda with exquisite mosaics, blue domes, and majolica decorations. Visit Ulugh Beg's Observatory and learn how scientists studied the stars in the 15th century.
Gastronomic Expedition
Life in the East is impossible to imagine without teahouses. We will explore the national cuisine in authentic places where I go with my family and friends. Often, each district has its signature dishes. For example, Kokand Street is famous for its shashlik houses, connoisseurs of Samarkand manty visit Mahallya Mulian, and the best pilaf in town is cooked in the Geophysicists' Settlement.
