About this experience
From 1392 to 1897, Korea was ruled by the Lee dynasty, or Joseon. You will visit two special places to learn about the legacy of the late period of this era. We will stroll through the traditional village of Minsokchon, where you will explore peasant and noble houses, learn about Korean past way of life and traditions. And in the ancient 'Blooming Fortress' we will talk about its unique architecture and history.
What to expect
Scenic Minsokchon Village
Every street and house here preserves the spirit of the Joseon dynasty era. You will walk through the folklore village, peek into peasant dwellings, see the government house, and luxurious nobleman's mansion. I will tell you about the everyday life of late Joseon Koreans. Traditional dances and music will help you feel the atmosphere of the time. Here you will also taste authentic dishes and hear about customs that are still followed to this day.
Hwaseong Fortress
In the second part of the journey, you will head to the city of Suwon where you will inspect from the outside and visit a UNESCO-listed monument. In the historical complex, I will tell you about the reasons for the construction of the fortress wall in the 18th century and explain what distinguishes its architecture from other similar structures in South Korea.
