About this experience
You are in for an extensive program! In 5.5 hours, you will visit the palace, a Buddhist temple, inspect the souvenir street shops - what do they sell? And stop by Kwanghwamun Square. You will also learn about the country's culture, the rule of the Joseon dynasty, and the peculiarities of the local mentality. Discover the influence of traditions on the lives of Koreans and, if desired, try royal sweets.
What to Expect
What did the members of the royal family eat? How were brides chosen? How many servants were there at the palace? What role did the Russian Empire and Japan play in the country's life? I will tell you about this and much more during the tour. You will hear about concubines, political intrigues, and reforms during the Joseon dynasty period.
In our program:
- Kwanghwamun Square - closely examine two monuments - the great military commander Lee Sunsin and King Sejong. We will talk about the Korean alphabet.
- Gyeongbokgung Palace - the life of the royal family. We will enter the palace complex, where I will tell you about the history of Korea and focus on the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897).
- Bukchon Folk Village - you will see how traditional Korean hanok houses were arranged and learn about the life of the wealthy class.
- Insadong Street (souvenir street) - souvenirs, tea shops, traditional costumes, and stores of Korean traditional paper 'hanji'. If you wish, you can try royal sweets and see how they are made.
- Jogyesa Buddhist Temple - we will talk about the religions of the peninsula and the influence of Buddhism.
