This program is perfect for those who want to experience the nature of our country without burdening themselves with historical facts. You will trek through the centuries-old Konorchek Canyons, admire the mountain ranges of the Tian Shan, visit the atmospheric fishing town of Balykchy, and see the jewel of Kyrgyzstan - Lake Issyk-Kul.
What to expect
Picturesque Route
Our journey will begin in Bishkek. We will drive along a beautiful road along the border with Kazakhstan. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Tian Shan mountain ranges, seamlessly blending with the panorama of endless fields and hills in front of them.
It takes about 2 hours to reach the first stop. During this time, the landscapes outside the window will change to sheer cliffs of incredible height, and the road will transition to a highway winding between the cliffs and leading upwards towards natural beauty.
Along the Riverbed to the Canyons
The first point on the route is the Konorchek Canyons, which bear a striking resemblance to the Grand Canyon in the USA. You can only reach them through the dry riverbed of an ancient river that has 'carved' its way to them from the gorge. You will experience an unforgettable trek with overcoming small obstacles. But don't worry: even children have traversed this route!
Pride of Kyrgyzstan
After exploring the canyon system, we will return to the car, take a rest, have a snack, drink mountain tea, and head towards the magnificent Lake Issyk-Kul. This is the pride of the Kyrgyz people and, of course, a source of sustenance for many generations of hereditary fishermen. And where else but in the 'Fishermen's City' should you get acquainted with the Kyrgyz Sea? You will stroll along the beach, take beautiful photos against the backdrop of mountain ranges, and at the local market, appreciate the fishermen's catch.
