Southern Shore of Issyk-Kul Lake and Fairy-Tale Canyon Skazka

What to Expect

• Our journey will start in Bishkek, where we will pick you up from your hotel and head towards Lake Issyk-Kul along a scenic road that runs along the border with Kazakhstan.

• After about 1.5 hours, we will stop to have a bite of national flatbread kattama and tea with milk, prepared according to the traditional recipe of nomads that is over 300 years old. If you prefer coffee, we will stop by for fragrant latte or vanilla macchiato.

• Then, through the majestic Boom Gorge and across the mountain ridge, we will travel to the legend and gem of the Kyrgyz people - Lake Issyk-Kul, more specifically - its southern shore, where the 'hand of progress' has not yet reached. You will see pristine nature and experience maximum unity with it, take a break from the city hustle and bustle, and admire the picturesque landscapes.

• Driving along the shore, we will reach a truly magical place that fully lives up to its name - Skazka Canyon. This location has been used as a filming pavilion for fantasy movies since the Soviet era and to this day, creating an atmosphere of alien landscapes.

• Depending on your readiness, we will choose a hiking route through the canyon and take a walk through it. We will climb to the highest point and visit the best photo spots.

• After the walk, if you wish, we will have lunch at a restaurant on a hill near the shore. Then, we will head back to the city, observing completely different landscapes in the rays of the setting sun.
