Pearl of Zailiysky Alatau
Lake Issyk, located in the eponymous gorge, is a place of extraordinary landscapes and stunning energy. You will have enough time to explore the surroundings from the shore, enjoy the turquoise water surface, and take panoramic photos. You will learn about the huge natural disaster that occurred here in the early 60s and see how the area around the lake is being developed in our time. At a special place, we will offer you to perform a ritual to receive the blessing of the ancient nomads.
Turgen Waterfalls, the Source of Beauty and Moss Fir Trees
We will also take you to another exciting place in the Almaty region - the waterfalls in the Ile-Alatau National Park. There are seven in the Turgen Gorge. You will visit the most visited one, the 30-meter high Medvezhy Waterfall. It is located in a picturesque place among overhanging rocks. The rocks themselves are interesting because they were split by an earthquake and preserve the imprints of plants from the Ice Age. Also, nearby you will find the 'source of beauty' with tasty and cold spring water. Moreover, in the gorge, you will admire real fir carpets - relics of the Chinturgen moss fir trees.
Legends of the Great Steppe
On the way, you will get acquainted not only with nature but also with the history of the region. Our guide will tell you about the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes that inhabited the territory of Kazakhstan in ancient times. In particular, you will learn about the fascinating Scythian culture and the discovered archaeological sites - burial mounds. Particularly curious is the episode related to the 'Golden Man', or Altyn Adam, who became a state symbol of the country. Who was that distinguished man? Or maybe it was a beautiful warrior?
