About this experience
Located 70 km from Almaty, you will visit the Issyk and Turgen Gorges. Surrounded by the mountains of the Zailiysky Alatau, you will see the magical turquoise lake. Relax on the shore, breathe in the healing air, and take postcard-perfect photos. After that, you will walk through the Ile-Alatau National Park and visit the impressive 30-meter waterfall.
What to Expect
Issyk Lake
On the way from Almaty, you will enjoy magnificent views of mountains and picturesque landscapes that will accompany you throughout the journey. Upon arrival at the lake, you will appreciate the beauty of the turquoise water surrounded by snowy peaks and coniferous forests. Enjoy the healing microclimate of the area. You can also have a picnic by the lake or even go fishing in a trout farm.
Medvezhy Waterfall
Then we will move to the Turgen Gorge. You will take a short walk surrounded by beautiful mountains and a river. Along the way, you will see small wooden bridges and meadows, admire the diversity of vegetation in the national park. When you reach the majestic waterfall, you will rest at its foot and take vibrant pictures.
Organizational Details
- The price includes: transfer in a 7-seater Mitsubishi Delica SUV, services of a driver-guide, drinking water
- The car will have a first aid kit with necessary medical supplies and medications for unforeseen situations
- Additional expenses: environmental fees - 1000 tenge (~$2) per person and lunch at a cafe along the way - average bill 3000-5000 tenge ($6-10), or you can bring your own snack
- Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for the season
- I or another guide from our team will accompany you on the trip
- Note: the trip does not include detailed storytelling by the driver-guide. He will show the maximum, but the main goal of the trip is to enjoy the natural locations, take photos, and videos.
