About this experience
Welcome to the fascinating journey dedicated to the history of Issyk Lake! During the trip, you will enjoy the views of the Issyk Gorge from the observation tower and during a walk through it. You will walk leisurely for 11 kilometers and learn about the tragic fate of the lake. You will visit a man-made cave where every stone holds its unique story.
What to expect
This day will be filled with impressions and colorful landscapes. You will see traces of natural forces and feel the confrontation between man and the raging elements. You will also learn what happened at the lake in 1963.
- Around 10 am we will depart from Almaty
- After an hour and a half, we will arrive at the Ile-Alatau National Park
- We will drive as close to the lake as possible by off-road vehicle. The walking part of the route will be approximately 11 km in each direction along a flat road without inclines.
- We will ascend the observation tower, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and its surroundings
- We will go on a hike to the anti-mudflow dam and the Cave of Desires. In the grotto's lair, you can ask for your innermost desires.
- By evening, recharged with natural energy, we will return to Almaty
