About this experience
Mountain lakes and majestic canyon approximately 12 million years old are waiting for you. Learn what makes Kaiyndy Lake so unusual, feel dizzy from the herbal scents at the Kolsai Lakes, and find out the origin of the name Valley of Castles. You won't have time to get tired of the road: the transportation will be comfortable, the landscapes outside the window will be breathtaking, and the guide's stories will be captivating.
What to expect
Kaiyndy Lake
It is hidden among the coniferous forest in one of the gorges of Kungey-Alatau. The lake was formed just 200 years ago after an earthquake in these places. What makes it so unusual? Part of the spruces still tightly hold onto the bottom. From the side, it looks enchanting - through the smooth surface of the water, giant bare trunks rise like giant brothers. Let's walk along the lake and admire the frozen beauty.
Kolsai Lakes
Kolsai is a chain of high-mountain lakes the color of deep evening sky, coniferous forest around, head-spinning aromas of resin and wild herbs. Let's leisurely walk around the Lower Kolsai Lake, see the trout swimming, and take some photos against the background of nature.
Valley of Castles in Charyn Canyon
The valley got its name thanks to the unusual rocks resembling ancient castles. This landscape is truly impressive. We will leave the cars in the parking lot and gently descend into the canyon to the Charyn River. The 2 km road will take an hour. On the way, the guide will tell you about the features of this inspiring place and suggest stopping by the river in the shade of trees for 10-20 minutes before heading back.
