About this experience
Do you know what Khwarezm is? It is an ancient state in Central Asia through which the Great Silk Road passed. That's where we are heading! You will explore three fortresses of Khwarezm, impressing even modern researchers with their scale: Toprak-Kala, Ayaz-Kala, and Kyzyl-Kala. As a bonus to immersing yourself in history, you will enjoy fantastic views of the Kyzylkum Desert.
What to expect
Toprak-Kala. You will see the remains of an ancient city, the pre-Islamic capital of Khwarezm, where active trade took place and the entire state was governed. I will tell you about the Zoroastrians and their rituals, fire temples, and sacred elements.
Ayaz-Kala. We will walk through the ruins of an ancient fortress located in the sands of Kyzylkum. Even before our era, it served as a military fortification. I will reveal how and from whom it protected the local residents.
Kyzyl-Kala. The age of this fortress is almost 2000 years. You will learn who sought refuge here, including travelers and trade caravans.
