About this experience
In this trip, you will encounter harmonious Japanese landscapes: ancient Japanese cedars, Lake Ashi, and bubbling hot springs. On the way to Mount Fuji, I will introduce you to medieval stories and soldier life at the Tokaido highway post station. A ride on a pirate ship, ascent on a ropeway, a story about 'longevity eggs,' and the Dragon Gate at the temple, cutting into the water surface, - this is what will make your journey memorable!
What to Expect
Medieval Heritage
You will visit the former northern outpost of Japan - Odawara Castle, which once passed from one samurai clan to another, learn the history of this place and overlook the panorama of scenic surroundings from the observation deck. Then we will go to Hakone Barrier - a reconstructed part of the famous Tokaido highway. There you will see the restored wooden buildings that served as barracks, prisons, and other premises, and get an idea of the life not only of soldiers but also of Japanese people of past centuries. And in the Nine-headed Dragon Temple, you will hear a legend about a monster and see Lake Ashi through the frame of red gates submerged in water.
Incredible Nature of Japan
On the way to the snow-white Odawara Castle, you will admire the coast of Sagami Bay for a long time, the water of which appears of different colors depending on the weather. On the 'Samurai Alley,' you will inhale the clean air with the scent of Japanese cedars - cryptomerias, and in the Owakudani Valley of Great Boiling look through the steam of sulfuric springs at the outlines of Mount Fuji. The breathtaking views from the water on Lake Ashi and from the height of the ropeway, laid over the valley, will remain in your memory as features of Japan's almost untouched by civilization.
