About this experience
Florence is a beautiful and fleeting dream! Like Botticelli's 'Spring', it is capable of charming everyone. By exploring ancient churches and squares, masterpieces of painting and sculpture, you will uncover its centuries-old history and understand the secret of its unique Florentine charm.
What to Expect
Ancient and Medieval Florence
You will learn about the events associated with the city's name, who and when it was founded, and what the ancient forum looked like. We will then move on to the Middle Ages: I will show you the impregnable houses-towers and palaces of that time and reveal the legends hidden behind their grim facades. Additionally, I will share the story of Dante and Beatrice's love and explain who the Guelphs and Ghibellines were.
The Cradle of the Renaissance
I will talk about the Renaissance and the people who lived in that era, more keenly feeling the spirit of the times, the changes taking place, and the impending shift in thinking. 'The world is man's workshop, where he can and must express himself freely,' they said. You will see the main symbols of the Florentine Renaissance: the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its huge dome, towering dominantly over the city, Giotto's Campanile, and the Baptistery of St. John, enchanting with magnificent mosaics and bronze doors.
