About this experience
Florence is an amazing place. It was here that the first banks appeared, the Italian language was born and the telephone was invented. I will show you all the 'business cards' of the Tuscan capital, tell you its history and legends, share the secrets of a local resident, and do everything to make our walk memorable for you!
What to expect
Ancient streets and squares
At the Duomo square, you will see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and learn about the practical calculations related to its dimensions and how in the 15th century the architect Brunelleschi managed to build such a giant dome. While walking through the narrow medieval streets, you will hear how people lived on them in dark and troubled times and why they built tall tower houses. You will also make a wish at the boar-shaped fountain and visit the Signoria square - the center of Florence's political power.
Florence and famous people
The Tuscan capital boasts many great names: Michelangelo, Leonardo, Vespucci, Galileo. You will walk the streets they walked on and see their works that made Florence's name immortal. I will show you where Dante lived and where he met his beautiful muse Beatrice. I will also tell you the most interesting facts about the great family that ruled Florence for several centuries. You will visit the inner courtyard of the Medici Palace, visit the San Lorenzo square and examine the Medici Chapel, where all members of the dynasty are buried.
Oltrarno - the soul of Florence
The courtyard of the Uffizi gallery will lead you to the Arno river embankment with wonderful views. And leaving behind the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge, you will find yourself in the authentic Oltrarno district with laundry on the windows, small cozy restaurants, and craft workshops. In conclusion, I will share tips from a local resident: where to take a walk on your own, where to buy souvenirs, and where to go shopping.
