About this experience
Escape the hustle and bustle of cities and resorts and spend a few hours in the realm of untouched nature and silence. On a cozy boat, you will head to the Kom Monastery, located on an islet in the western part of Lake Skadar. Along the way, you will see pelicans and herons, lotuses and blooming water lilies, and learn about local life!
What to Expect
All the colors of Lake Skadar
Lake Skadar is one of the most amazing places in the Balkans. As you sail through it, you will admire the majestic mountains, reed beds, water lilies plantations, blooming reeds, and even water chestnuts. The lake is also home to tens of thousands of birds, many of which are listed in the Red Book. I will show you pelicans, cormorants, black ibises, and several species of herons.
Ancient Kom Monastery
As if out of nowhere, a secluded islet with the ancient Kom Monastery will appear on our way. You will hear its amazing history and visit the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, preserving original frescoes from the 15th-16th centuries. You will also meet the hospitable abbot of the monastery, who will guide you around the island and treat you to wine and honey of their own production.
