About this experience
The city of Gyeongju is located in the southeast of the country, approximately 3.5 hours away from Seoul. For the first 9 centuries of our era, Korean civilization thrived here, and Gyeongju – the capital of the Silla state – was the heart of that era. In the iconic historical complex, you will encounter UNESCO monuments and national treasures of Korea. You will also admire the beauty of the local nature.
What to Expect
- Upon arrival in Gyeongju, we will immediately head to the majestic temple of Bulguksa. I will tell you about the peculiarities of its architecture and the place of the sanctuary in Korean Buddhist culture.
- We will stroll through the Dorivon Park, where the royal tombs are located. In this impressive place, we will talk about the great rulers of Silla and their contribution to the development of Korean civilization.
- We will visit the ancient astronomical observatory.
- We will also visit the village of Gyeochon, where you should definitely taste traditional Korean sweets.
