About this experience
Cave houses and churches, otherworldly landscapes, folk dances, and of course, a hot air balloon ride - these are must-have experiences in Cappadocia! You will travel to the 'Land of Horses' by bus and collect a full collection of rock cities and valleys. You will also hear about the region's history, learn about the mix of religions here, and immerse yourself in the local culture.
What to Expect
Day 1
We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning - and by midday, you will be strolling through the underground city tunnels. In Pashabag Valleys, you will see the largest 'mushrooms' in Cappadocia, in Cavusin and Goreme, you will visit rock monasteries and learn about the establishment of Christianity in this land. And the beautiful end of the day will be watching the sunset in the Red Valley.
Program
- Between 03:00 - 05:00 Transfer from your accommodation in the Alanya region (depending on the distance from your accommodation, the distance to Cappadocia is 500 km.)
- Around 05:00 Transfer from shuttles to the excursion bus, meeting with the guide, departure
- Around 07:00 Stop in the Toros Mountains for breakfast
- Around 10:00 Technical stop on the way
- Around 12:30 - 13:00 Arrival in Cappadocia. Visiting one of the underground cities of Cappadocia
- Around 14:00 Lunch break (regional cuisine)
- Visiting the panoramic platform with a view of the village of Goreme
- Visiting the open-air national park of Goreme (not the museum)
- Visiting the rock city of Cavusin and the cave church of St. John the Baptist
- Visiting the Valley of Imagination
- Walk through the valleys of Cappadocia
- For those who desire, sunset in the Red Valley / horseback riding / quad biking / prayer of the dervishes (others will be taken back to the hotel)
- Around 20:00 - 20:30 (summer season) / 18:00 - 18:30 (winter season) Arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner
- For those who desire: Turkish night in Cappadocia / night laser show
Day 2
The morning in Cappadocia starts with hot air balloons: you can take off yourself - or enjoy this spectacle from the side and arrange a delightful photo shoot. The new valleys - Love and Pigeons - will amaze you with the diversity of landscapes in this region. And you will also uncover the history of the ancient fortress of Uchisar, located on the highest rock in Cappadocia!
Program
- For those wishing: hot air balloon flight. Or activities with a view of hot air balloons: visiting a panoramic platform / jeep safari / horseback riding / quad biking. Everything happens in parallel, so you can visit only one.
- Around 08:00 (summer season) / 09:00 (winter season) Breakfast, check-out from the hotel
- Visiting the Valley of Love
- Visiting the Valley of the Pigeons
- Visiting the rock fortress of Uchisar
- Getting to know the region's cultural crafts - visiting factories and workshops
- Around 12:30 Departure from Cappadocia
- Around 15:00 Lunch in the city of Konya (regional cuisine)
- Around 17:30 Technical stop on the road before entering the mountains
- Around 19:00 Arrival on the coast. Transfer to shuttles to your regions
- Around 19:30 - 21:30 Return to your place of residence in the Alanya region (travel time depends on the traffic on the route and the distance from your place of residence)
Organizational Details
Attention: due to the organizer's insurance policy, deviation from the tour is prohibited! Deviation is cooperation with third-party companies that do not have a contract with the organizer (hot air balloon flight, accommodation in a hotel not approved by the organizer, any other entertainments not present in the tour program and not agreed with the organizer).
Make sure to bring your passport with you.
How the tour goes
- On a comfortable bus in a group of 17, 30, 40, or 54 people (group size depends on the season)
- The tour will be conducted for you by one of our professional History guides from our team
- The program may change depending on the weather or other factors, the guide decides on the spot
- Weather and wind conditions may affect the hot air balloon flight, as well as sunsets
- Please note: there are shopping stops on the tour, during which you can acquaint yourself with the historical crafts of the region
- Children under 6 years old do not get a separate seat on the bus. Children sit with adults (on laps). If you want your child under 6 years old to have a separate seat on the bus, you need to purchase a separate ticket for them when booking.
