About this experience
Cave houses and churches, alien landscapes, folk dances, and of course, a hot air balloon ride - these are must-haves in Cappadocia! You will travel to the 'Land of Horses' by bus and collect the entire collection of rock cities and valleys. You will also hear about the history of the region, learn how religions mixed here, and immerse yourself in the local culture.
What to Expect
Day 1
We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning - and by noon, you will be strolling through the passages of underground cities. In the Pasha Bag valleys, you will see the largest 'mushrooms' in Cappadocia, visit rock monasteries in Cavusin and Goreme, and learn about the establishment of Christianity in this land. And the beautiful end of the day will be watching the sunset in the Red Valley.
Program
- Between 01:40 - 02:40 Transfer from your accommodation in the Kemer region (depending on the distance of your accommodation, the distance to Cappadocia is 600 km)
- Around 05:00 Transfer to the excursion bus, meet the guide, depart
- Around 07:00 Stop in the Taurus Mountains for breakfast
- Around 10:00 Technical stop on the way
- Around 12:30 - 13:00 Arrival in Cappadocia. Visit one of the underground cities of Cappadocia
- Around 14:00 Lunch break (regional cuisine)
- Visit the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the village of Goreme
- Visit the open-air Goreme National Park (not the museum)
- Visit the rock city of Cavusin and the cave church of St. John the Baptist
- Visit the Valley of Imagination (Valley of Fantasies)
- Walk through the valleys of Cappadocia
- For those interested: sunset in the Red Valley / horseback riding / quad biking / dervish prayer (others will be taken back to the hotel)
- Around 20:00 - 20:30 (summer season) / 18:00 - 18:30 (winter season) Arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner
- For those interested: Turkish night in Cappadocia / night laser show
Day 2
In Cappadocia, the morning starts with hot air balloons: you can take off in the air yourself - or admire this spectacle from the side and arrange a delightful photoshoot. The new valleys of Love and Pigeons will surprise you with the variety of landscapes of this region. And you will also explore the history of the ancient Uchisar fortress, located on the highest rock in Cappadocia!
Program
- For those interested: hot air balloon flight. Or activities with a view of hot air balloons: visiting a panoramic site / jeep safari / horseback riding / quad biking. Everything happens in parallel, so you can visit one thing.
- Around 08:00 (summer season) / 09:00 (winter season) Breakfast, check-out from the hotel
- Visit the Valley of Love
- Visit the Valley of the Pigeons
- Visit the rock fortress of Uchisar
- Introduction to the cultural crafts of the region - visiting factories and workshops
- Around 12:30 Departure from Cappadocia
- Around 15:00 Lunch in Konya (regional cuisine)
- Around 17:30 Technical stop on the road before entering the mountains
- Around 19:00 Arrival at the coast. Transfer to transports to your respective regions
- Around 21:00 - 22:00 Return to your accommodation in the Kemer region (travel time depends on the road conditions and the distance of your accommodation)
Organizational Details
Attention: Due to the organizer's insurance policy, deviation from the excursion is prohibited! Deviation is cooperation with outside companies that do not have a contract with the organizer (hot air balloon flight, staying in a hotel not approved by the organizer, any other entertainments not present in the excursion program and not coordinated with the organizer).
Make sure to bring your passport with you.
How the Excursion Goes
- In a comfortable bus
- The excursion will be conducted by one of the professional historian guides from our team
- The program may vary depending on the weather or other factors, the guide makes decisions on-site
- Weather and wind conditions may affect the hot air balloon flight and sunsets
- Please note: there are shopping stops during the excursion where you can learn about historical crafts of the region
- Children under 6 years old do not have a separate seat on the bus. Children sit together with adults (on laps). If you want your child under 6 years old to have a separate seat on the bus, you need to purchase a separate ticket for them when booking.
What is Included in the Price:
- Transfer to and from the place of residence in the Kemer region in the areas: Tekirova, Camyuva, Kiris, Kemer, Goynuk, Beldibi. Attention: There is no transfer to the excursion in Olympos and Cirali.
- Entrance ticket to the Underground City
- Visit to the open-air Goreme National Park (all locations specified in the main program - not the museum)
- Accommodation at Duru Hotel (Avanos) or Taşsaray Hotel 4* (Urgup)
- Breakfast and dinner at the hotel, breakfast on the first day of the excursion
