About this experience
This excursion is 2 in 1: you will not only get acquainted with the city on a sightseeing tour, but also visit the park that has gained worldwide fame. The exhibition will last only two months, where you can see millions of fragrant flowers. I will tell you the history of the tulip and take you past flowering fields to pavilions with rare varieties. In another part of the tour, you will explore the main attractions of the city and understand how its outlines changed as it developed.
PLEASE NOTE: the tour is held from March 23 to May 13, the park is closed at other times.
What to expect
City tour of Amsterdam
You will see Dam Square and the Royal Palace, stroll through the Red Light District in a calm atmosphere in the daylight. You will learn about the boundaries of the city in the XIII, XV, XVII centuries and the Golden Age of Amsterdam. At the Old Church, we will talk about religious wars, and then admire the city's canals — you will understand why and why they were dug. I will tell you about the most important trading companies and the Liberation War, and historical maps will show you how the city grew.
Colorful fields
On the way to Keukenhof, we will stop at flowering fields so you can take photos of amazing beauty. In the park, bright flower beds with thousands of different varieties of flowers await you. Pavilions with greenhouses and open flower beds, cut bouquets and landscaping ideas for small gardens — this exhibition will be interesting for both amateurs and professionals. I will tell you about rare flower species and the spread of the tulip throughout Europe. You will hear about Tulip Mania and the reasons for the emergence of this term. And even take part in a master class on composing bouquets and choose the most beautiful flower of the year!
For your convenience, I have divided the program for "larks" and "owls". Early birds are invited to start with a tour of Keukenhof Park and then take a walk in Amsterdam. For "owls," on the contrary, the tour will start in the city and continue in the park.
