About this experience
In the heart of the Caucasus, you will find some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the region. Standing on a mountain ridge, you will see the snowy Elbrus, picturesque rocks, and gentle valleys. You will observe the birds and walk on a bridge over the abyss. The trip will be memorable not only thanks to the famous plateau: on the way to Bermamyt, you will see panoramic views of the CMV and gorges, explore the history and legends.
What to Expect
Travel to Bermamyt (2-2.5 hours): CMV, Karachay-Cherkessia, viewpoints
On the way from Pyatigorsk, you will hear the main highlights about each city of Kavminvod, and the main narration will start as we pass through Kislovodsk. The planned stops include:
- Viewing platform overlooking Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, and Mount Beshtau. Most groups drive past, but the panorama here is excellent!
- Viewing platform overlooking Elbrus and Kanjol Plateau. We will reach here off-road, through high-mountain pastures and fields. You will learn about the region and the ancient Karachay village.
- Viewing platform on Mount Alabaster: view of the Eshkakon Gorge, the summit element of Big Bermamyt, and a new angle of Elbrus.
2 hours at the fantastic Bermamyt Plateau
Finally, you will reach the destination – the plateau known as the Russian Grand Canyon. This is part of the rocky ridge of the Greater Caucasus with bizarre rock formations like monks and a harp-shaped rock, a natural amphitheater, and a bridge over the abyss. In overcast weather, you can also see the "Brocken ghost" – a phenomenon where the observer's shadow is reflected on clouds or in the mist. We often encounter the inhabitants of these lands: eagles, buzzards, hares, and foxes.
With plenty of impressions and photos, we will return: the journey will take about 1.5 hours, and we can stop for a snack.

When booking, you need to choose the trip option:
— Day trip to Bermamyt with all the mentioned stops (departure early in the morning)
— Sunset trip to Bermamyt with all the mentioned stops (departure during the day)
How the trip goes
- In a comfortable UAZ Patriot SUV in a group of up to 7 people
- You will be accompanied by me or another guide-driver from our team
- We will pick you up from your place of stay and drop you back after the tour
- You can start and end the tour in other cities of CMV:
from Kislovodsk – 2480 rubles per person
from Essentuki – 3300 rubles per person - Stops are subject to weather conditions. Also, the tour may be canceled due to weather (rarely happens) – in this case, we will offer you another day or refund your money.
