About this experience
Kavminvod is not only a concentration of ridges, valleys, and mountain gorges, but also a witness to centuries of history: from Byzantium to Lermontov's times. By car, we will drive through the key locations of this region. We will see the site of Pechorin's duel, visit the stone heritage of Byzantium, try delicious Caucasian dishes, and admire the extraordinary work of natural sculptors.
What to expect
Lermontovskaya Rock. It is not just a picturesque place: there is a justified opinion that Pechorin dueled Grushnitsky here. I will tell you about the military traditions of those years, the true Caucasians from 'A Hero of Our Time', and the life of Lermontov himself on the spot.
Rim Mountain. According to some historians, this ancient fortress was the last stronghold of Byzantium in the North Caucasus. Together, we will try to understand its fate at the sunset of the great empire. And we will talk about the late Golden Horde period, which changed world history, including our present.
Medovy Waterfalls. For 200 years, this place has attracted tourists from all corners of the country. We will stroll through picturesque surroundings, refresh ourselves in the shade of roaring waterfalls, and have a delicious lunch. I will definitely tell you how the discovery of the American continent influenced Caucasian cuisine.
Koltsa Mountain. The most popular place in the vicinity of Kislovodsk, and for a reason. It is hard to believe that this is a creation of nature, not man. I will tell you a beautiful legend about its origin, and we will admire the fantastic view of the valley from a bird's eye view.
