Group Bus Tour: Martvili Canyon and Prometheus Cave in 1 Day
About this experience
In the mountains of Western Georgia lies a realm of myths and legends! Somewhere here Jason stole the Golden Fleece, and the Argonauts saw the eagle that gnawed the liver of the King of the Scythians. In a group of up to 15 people, you will explore the natural wonders of the region. In Prometheus Cave, you will walk among underground halls, karst lakes, and streams. And at Martvili Canyon, near cliffs and waterfalls, you will imagine descending to Charon.
What to Expect
Join us on a journey to one of the most picturesque regions of Georgia. You will encounter natural wonders combined with equipped places for active and cognitive recreation. Throughout the day, you will explore a cave labyrinth, visit an ancient canyon, and enjoy views of a turquoise river flowing through the gorge. And if desired, take a boat ride.
Natural Architecture of Prometheus Cave
Here you will see that nature is a talented artist, able to create rock formations of incredible shapes like a petrified waterfall, stone curtains, and calcite flows. Accompanied by a local guide, you will tour six caves in an hour, then walk part of the way on foot or take a 15-minute boat ride on the underground river Kumi.
Breathtaking Canyon
The Martvili Canyon, with its stone arch walls, was formed in the Mesozoic era. Due to high humidity, it is overgrown with twisting lianas and perennial mosses. You can walk through it on foot or take a boat ride.
We will also give you a bonus - a walking tour of Tbilisi with one of the city's best guides.
Organizational Details
- One of our agency's guides will conduct the tour for you
- The trip will take place in a comfortable Mercedes minibus
- This is a one-day program with an early departure and late return: departure from Tbilisi at 07:00, finishing around 23:00
- Please note: children under 6 are not allowed in Prometheus Cave
- After this tour, we will offer you a free walking tour of Tbilisi. All details can be clarified in correspondence with the guide.
