What to expect
Cathedral — the spirit and heart of the Gothic Quarter
Near the Cathedral of St. Eulalia, one of the most remarkable Gothic temples in the world, you will learn about the centuries-long construction history, admire the craftsmanship of masters from different eras, and discover Spanish and French motifs in the building's architecture. You will hear legends about the burials of noble aristocrats, stories about the city's patron saint, and appreciate the impressive collection of relics, including the Order of the Golden Fleece and the throne of the King of Aragon.
Jewish Quarter and Royal Squares
In the Jewish Quarter, you will see the oldest synagogue in Europe and learn about the history of Spain's wealthiest and most influential community in the 13th century. We will talk about Jewish craftsmen, merchants, and financiers, as well as the significance of the district as an important cultural center of Catalonia.
