What to Expect
A Glimpse of the Past in the Old Town
We will start our journey from the central square of Barcelona, walk through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, peek into cozy courtyards, and taste the national sweets churros. You'll see an ancient fountain where Medieval residents fetched water and learn about those times. In the Jewish Quarter, you will hear about the life of Jews during the reign of Queen Isabella.
Ancient Churches
I will show you not only the famous Cathedral but also lesser-known churches:
- Church of Saint Just and Pastor, with a history dating back to pagan times. Climbing the church tower, you will enjoy the view of the Old Town and the waterfront.
- Church of Sant Pau del Camp, dating back to the 9th century; it is the burial place of the first hereditary Count and King of Catalonia, Wilfred II - I will tell you about his personality.
- Church of Saint Anne, one of the oldest buildings in the Gothic Quarter, which we will definitely visit.
Fashionable Districts of Barcelona
We will then take a walk through the stylish streets of the Eixample district. On the famous Plaza de España, you will learn how the 1929 World Expo changed the face of the city. You will understand the differences between Catalans and Spaniards and why Catalans live up to 90 years old. From the height of Montjuïc Mountain, you will enjoy a panorama of Barcelona - a perfect end to our program!
