About this experience
Gothic Quarter is the heart of the Catalan capital, as it is where it was born. Wandering through its narrow medieval streets, you will discover the ruins of the ancient Roman city, cozy squares, magnificent cathedrals, and even geese. And I will gladly share about the life, customs, and original traditions of the Catalans!
What to expect
Signs of the past
Walking through the Gothic Quarter, you will find traces of the Roman period: an aqueduct, walls, and columns of the Temple of Augustus. You will also hear the legend of the founding of Barcelona, visit the majestic Cathedral, and learn why geese live in its cloister. You will then peek into the courtyard of the Archdeacon's house and the inner courtyard of the Royal Palace, pass under the magical Bridge of Sighs, and find yourself in the center of the city's political life.
Secret places and useful tips
You will learn the tragic history of the Jewish Quarter, visit ancient shops, and discover secret squares known only to locals. You will also receive valuable practical recommendations: where to eat deliciously and inexpensively, what else to see in Barcelona, and which neighborhoods to explore. The tour will end at the Royal Square, near the early works of the great Gaudi.
