About this experience
The Gothic Quarter is the cradle of Barcelona. Who were its 'parents'? Why did they end up in these lands? How did the childhood, adolescence, youth, maturity, and formation of one of the most beautiful and amazing cities in the world take place? My story will be about the dazzling and perpetually youthful Barcelona. We will live through several lives in the heart of the city, among ancient treasures and antiquity.
What to Expect
- The Cathedral, with its history, relics, and symbols
- Ancient fortress walls
- The Great Royal Palace, where the Catholic Monarchs Fernando and Isabella met Christopher Columbus after his triumphant sea voyage
- The famous pedestrian street La Rambla with its sights
- Narrow medieval streets of the Jewish quarter El Call
- The oldest surviving building in Barcelona
- Ancient Roman cemetery
- San Felipe Neri Church, attended by Antoni Gaudí himself
- The most cinematic square in Europe
- Saint James's Square
- Unique buildings of the Barcelona City Hall and the Government of Catalonia
- Gran Teatre del Liceu, where the great Montserrat Caballé shone
- Boqueria Market
Along the way, we will encounter many more interesting things, and I will accompany the stroll with curious details from the past and present of Barcelona, where I am lucky to live!
