About this experience
One of the best ways to get to know the city is to taste it. Join me on a historical and gastronomic walk through the charming places of Rome. You will learn how the ancient Romans ate, which dishes have survived to this day, what coffee Italians prefer, why Roman street food can be a delicacy, what an Italian aperitif is, and where the locals go.
What to Expect
Local delicacies at city markets and in ancient shops
The walk will start at a vibrant city market on one of the most beautiful and lively squares in Rome. Here you will discover the variety of Italian vegetables and fruits, learn to distinguish Parmesan from Pecorino, taste famous Italian sauces and black truffles. And, of course, we won't leave without trying limoncello!
For all seafood lovers, I will take you to a fish shop where you will find the freshest oysters (accompanied by a glass of Prosecco, if you wish). Nearby is the oldest butcher shop in Rome – you will taste the best salami and prosciutto here.
Next, wandering through the maze of Roman streets in a very interesting and picturesque quarter of the former Jewish Ghetto, you will visit an old bakery without a sign, where they bake the best ricotta pie, and behind an unremarkable door hides a real cheese kingdom.
We will end our walk with a cup of the best coffee in Rome.
Walk through the historical center of the city
Our route goes through the historical heart of Rome. During the walk, you will not only taste the most delicious dishes of Italian cuisine but also see the most beautiful Roman attractions: Campo de' Fiori, Turtle Fountain, Mattei Palace, Portico of Octavia, Marcellus Theater, Pantheon, and a very beautiful church with a secret.
