What to expect
Pagan Garni
We're headed to the only pagan temple in the entire post-Soviet territory! On a plateau with a picturesque view of the Azat River gorge, you will learn about the architecture and hear about the fate of the temple. You will find out which god it is dedicated to, why and by whom it was built, how many times it rose from the ashes, and who saved it after the adoption of Christianity. We will discuss ornaments, see an ancient Greco-Roman bath with a mosaic of 30,000 pieces of natural stones, and the ruins of a royal palace from the 3rd century AD.
Geghard Monastery: Armenia's golden age
In the gorge of the mountain river Gokht, an ancient monastery with a special energy is hidden. The word "Geghard" in Armenian means "spear." You will learn how this place is connected to the centurion Longinus the Centurion, understand why the complex symbolizes the golden age of the country's architecture, and see local sanctuaries. You will admire the reliefs above the arches and elegant khachkars, peek into mysterious chapels, and notice how rays of light glide over unusual stalactite-like arches. Walking through the monastery's territory, where time seems to stand still, you will immerse yourself in a special state of tranquility.
Beautiful Sevan - fresh air by the lake and dense forests
In your journey through Armenia, not visiting its blue pearl is simply unthinkable! After visiting ancient religious monuments, you will head to the lake, located at an altitude of 1900m above sea level surrounded by picturesque mountains.
