About this experience
Embark on a full-day immersive journey dedicated to nature, history, architecture, and the wildlife of Sri Lanka. Walk through the cobbled streets of Old Galle, admiring houses with columns and tiled roofs. Learn how volunteers rescue sea turtles. And then drive through Yala National Park, witnessing elephants and leopards.
What to Expect
Exotic Sri Lanka
In one day, you will see the wild animals living on the island, immerse yourself in the life of colonial Ceylon, enjoy views of the ocean from the heights of fortress walls, and visit a turtle farm. The excursion program includes:
- Turtle Farm - learn why sea turtles need rescue and care, how they are identified in tanks, helped to grow safely, and then released back into their natural habitat.
- Galle - we will see the mighty walls of the Portuguese fortress, a lighthouse, ancient Catholic temples, and mosques. I will tell you under what circumstances the fort was built and how it saved the residents during the tsunami.
- Yala National Park - a three-hour jeep safari awaits you in the most popular park on the island. An experienced driver will show you the animals and birds living in the area. Among them: elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, jackals, deer, peacocks, and leopards.
