About this experience
The eighth wonder of the world, the Cotton Castle, a source of beauty and health – these are just some of the names given to Pamukkale. It's a region of astonishing beauty, known for its white travertine terraces and healing hot springs. You'll bathe in Cleopatra's Pool, admire magical landscapes, explore the ancient city of Hierapolis, and discover Turkey from a new perspective.
What to Expect
Hierapolis: A Journey Back in Time
You will explore the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, delve into the city's history, and see its main attractions: the ancient theatre, necropolis, and remnants of churches. I will tell you about the founding of Hierapolis, its transformation into a famous thermal resort, discuss the features of construction of the Roman baths, mention the Temple of Apollo, and reveal the location of the only entrance to the Underworld in the world.
Bathing in Hot Springs
Cleopatra's Pool is the most comfortable place for bathing in Pamukkale; its temperature remains at +36°C throughout the year. You will relax in the warm mineral water and learn about the beneficial elements it contains. I will also share the story behind the construction of the pool, when it started welcoming guests, and how fragments of marble Roman columns ended up at its bottom.
